       Amdocs is a software & services provider to communications & media companies. It is headquartered in Chesterfield, Missouri, United States. Its customers span multiple lines of business, including wireless, wireline, broadband, cable and satellite services, and mobile financial services providers.

    HISTORY

       Amdocs was established in 1982 in Israel as an offshoot of Golden Pages, the Israeli phone directory company, which was owned by the Aurec Group headed by Morris Kahn. Kahn developed a billing software program for phone directory companies and, with Boaz Dotan, established Aurec Information & Directory Systems to market this product.

       In 1985, Southwestern Bell Corporation acquired a 50 percent ownership share of Aurec Information & Directory Systems, and then renamed it Amdocs.

       Between 1985 and 1987, the Aurec Group sold off all its holdings in Amdocs.

       In 1998, Amdocs was listed on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE).

       In 1999, the company entered the managed services space by acquiring ITDS.

       In 2001, the software firm Clarify was acquired.

       In 2005, the billing and CRM provider DST Innovis was acquired.

       In 2006, Cramer Systems was acquired.

       In 2007, the Israeli startup SigValue was acquired.

       In 2008, the Irish software company Changing Worlds was acquired.

       In 2010, MX Telecom was acquired.

       In 2011, Bridgewater Systems was acquired.

       In 2013, Celcite and Actix were acquired.

       In 2014, Amdocs was moved to the NASDAQ Global Select Market.

       In 2015, Comverse BSS was acquired.

       In 2016, the company acquired Silicon Valley-based Vindicia, Tel Aviv-based Pontis, and Irish software company Brite:Bill.

       In 2017, Kenzan Media was acquired.

       In 2018, the company acquired projekt202, Vubiquity, and the Canadian company UXP Systems.

       In 2019, TTS Wireless was acquired.

       In 2020, the company acquired Openet Telecom Inc., a provider of 5G charging, policy and cloud technologies. Also that year, Orange Liberia collaborated with Amdocs to update its end-to-end digital enabling infrastructure.

       In 2022, the company acquired the UK-headquartered SaaS-based cloud network and service assurance solutions for communications service providers, MYCOM OSI.
