Discrete manufacturing was the largest industry in the May 2024 update, at almost half a trillion dollars in 2024. IDC expected that industry to pass USD 700 billion in 2027.

Where Is IT Spending Growing Fastest in 2026?

Gartner forecasts worldwide IT spending of USD 6.37 trillion in 2026, up 14.2%. Its July 2026 table puts 2025 at USD 5,577 billion.

Data center systems show the highest 2026 growth of Gartner’s six segments, 62.5%, reaching USD 822 billion.

Infrastructure as a service grows 29.3% to USD 287 billion, a line also tracked in these cloud computing industry statistics.

Services stays the largest segment at USD 1,570 billion, with 5.3% growth. Software reaches USD 1,468 billion, up 15.5%, and vendor results sit in this software as a service market breakdown.

How Gartner’s 2026 total changed across four releases

Gartner published a 2026 total of USD 6.08 trillion in October 2025 and USD 6.15 trillion in February 2026. April 2026 lifted it to USD 6.31 trillion, and July set USD 6.37 trillion.

Forecast growth for 2026 moved from 9.8% to 10.8%, then 13.5% and 14.2%.

Digital Transformation Market by Region

Precedence Research credits North America with over 44% of 2025 revenue. The U.S. market alone was USD 458.91 billion that year.

Asia Pacific is expected to grow 29.5% a year over 2026 to 2035, against 23.73% for the global market.

The U.S. forecast reaches USD 3,894.34 billion by 2035, a 23.84% CAGR.

44% of McKinsey Respondents Report AI Scaling Across the Enterprise

McKinsey’s 2026 State of AI survey ran online from May 4 to June 8, 2026, with 1,719 participants in 97 countries. Results are weighted by each country’s share of global GDP.

Company size splits the results. At organizations with USD 1 billion or more in revenue, 54% of respondents report enterprise-wide scaling, compared with one-third at smaller organizations.

Agent use shows a wider gap. Large-organization respondents scaling AI agents rose from 27% to 40%, while smaller organizations stayed at 22%.

About two in ten respondents report scaling software coding agents, rising to 31% at larger enterprises, a trend also visible in GitHub Copilot adoption data.

Nearly a third (32%) say their organizations skipped at least one software purchase because agentic coding tools let them build it in-house.

How many companies report EBIT impact from AI?

37%

Thirty-seven percent of respondents attribute at least some EBIT impact to AI use, about the same share as in 2025.

Individual results run higher, with 80% reporting improved personal productivity.

On budgets, 28% say AI takes more than 10% of their enterprise-wide ICT spending. About one in five report that operating costs, tokens included, have constrained AI use.

Looking ahead, 60% expect their organizations to raise AI investment over the next year; vendor-side totals appear in this artificial intelligence market report.

Q3 new bookings fell 2% in U.S. dollars, split between USD 10.26 billion in consulting and USD 9.06 billion in managed services.

Accenture expects fiscal 2026 revenue growth of 3% to 4% in local currency. It logged 104 client bookings of USD 100 million or more through Q3, up 13%.

Fourth-quarter and full-year results are scheduled for October 1, 2026.

Capgemini 2026 results

First-half revenue at Capgemini reached EUR 12,082 million, with currency movements cutting 2.5 points from reported growth.
