What is Jay-Z’s net worth in 2026? Two trackers agree on $2.8 billion
Forbes ranked Jay-Z No. 1504 on its 2026 billionaires list, and a March 2026 Forbes report called Jay-Z the world’s wealthiest musician. The Jay-Z net worth 2025 figure at Forbes was $2.5 billion, the same number Forbes had used since 2023.
Celebrity Net Worth also moved to $2.8 billion on September 28, 2026, up from $300 million in 2009.
Agreement is not verification. Both outlets start from the same public deal prices, and Roc Nation and SC Liquor, the company holding Jay-Z’s cognac stake, publish no accounts.
Any number quoted in a Jay-Z net worth Reddit thread comes from these same trackers. Nobody posting there has seen Roc Nation’s books.
Jay-Z net worth estimates, 2009 to 2026
Billions of US dollars. The line is Celebrity Net Worth’s milestone table; open circles are Forbes figures.
Tidal: Jay-Z paid $56 million, Square paid $297 million
Jay-Z bought Aspiro, the Swedish owner of Tidal, for about $56 million in 2015 and signed up artist co-owners including Beyoncé and Rihanna. Sprint then put $200 million into Tidal for a 33% stake in January 2017.
On March 4, 2021, Square agreed to pay $297 million in cash and stock for a majority of Tidal, and Jay-Z joined Square’s board. Square told investors Tidal would have little effect on its 2021 revenue.
That $297 million went to every selling shareholder. Jay-Z’s slice has never been disclosed, and part of the payment came in Square stock, now Block shares, which Forbes still counts among Jay-Z’s assets.
D’Ussé: where Jay-Z’s $750 million number comes from
Jay-Z launched D’Ussé cognac with Bacardi in 2012, each side owning half. By 2022 the partners were in arbitration and court, and court papers showed Bacardi had offered about $500 million for Jay-Z’s half while rejecting a $1.5 billion bid from Jay-Z for Bacardi’s half.
The February 3, 2023 settlement left Bacardi with at least 75.01% of D’Ussé. SC Liquor kept the remainder, and neither side published a price.
No filing contains the $750 million figure. It comes from arithmetic: Jay-Z’s lawyers had valued D’Ussé at $3 billion throughout the dispute, and 25% of $3 billion is $750 million.
The stake Jay-Z kept, roughly another 25%, is worth the same on paper only if that $3 billion valuation holds. Celebrity Net Worth raised its estimate from $1.3 billion to $2 billion on the deal, while Forbes listed Jay-Z at $2.5 billion in April 2023.
Ace of Spades and the stakes Jay-Z still holds
In February 2021, LVMH’s Moët Hennessy unit bought 50% of Armand de Brignac, the champagne sold as Ace of Spades. The price was not disclosed, and Celebrity Net Worth’s $640 million brand valuation would put Jay-Z’s remaining half near $320 million.
Forbes also counts art that includes Jean-Michel Basquiat works, the music catalog, Roc Nation and shares in Block and Uber. None of these carries a public price, and this is where outside estimates of Jay-Z’s wealth differ most.
What the Tidal, champagne and cognac deals were worth
Deal prices in millions of US dollars. These are company-level prices, not Jay-Z’s personal proceeds.
What is Jay-Z doing now? Three nights in the Bronx
Jay-Z had not toured solo since the 4:44 Tour in 2017. Yankee Stadium booked July 10 and 11, 2026, for shows marking 30 years of Reasonable Doubt and 25 years of The Blueprint.
Hot 97 reported ticket queues near 800,000, and a third show, Extra Innings, followed on July 12. Hypebeast put attendance for the Blueprint night at 45,832.
Where is Jay-Z now? Jay-Z today is still on that anniversary run, and after London and Paris dates in September, the next stop is Los Angeles on October 23.
Roc Nation has not published Jay-Z’s share of any gross. The concerts add income, but nobody outside the company knows how much.
What happened to Jay-Z in court: a 1999 arrest and the Buzbee lawsuit
Jay-Z was arrested in December 1999 after record executive Lance Rivera was stabbed at Manhattan’s Kit Kat Klub. Jay-Z pleaded guilty in 2001 to misdemeanor third-degree assault and received three years’ probation, with no jail time.
The Jay-Z sexual abuse allegations came in December 2024, when attorney Tony Buzbee amended a civil suit to accuse Jay-Z and Sean Combs of assaulting a 13-year-old girl in 2000. Jay-Z denied the accusations, and the plaintiff, Jane Doe, dropped the case with prejudice in February 2025.
Jay-Z’s counterattack has had mixed results. A Los Angeles judge dismissed Jay-Z’s extortion and defamation suit against Buzbee on June 30, 2025, and an appeals court upheld that ruling on September 9, 2026.
Buzbee lost in Texas, where a judge threw out Buzbee’s suits against Roc Nation in June 2026. A federal malicious prosecution case from Jay-Z against Buzbee and Jane Doe moved to Manhattan in March 2026 and is still pending.
No settlement has been reported. In a March 2026 GQ interview, Jay-Z said settling a case with allegations that serious was not an option.
Jay-Z’s family, the Malibu house and the shared fortune
Jay-Z married Beyoncé on April 4, 2008. Jay-Z’s children are Blue Ivy, born in January 2012, and twins Rumi and Sir, born in June 2017.
Forbes counts Beyoncé separately, at about $1 billion. The couple’s combined $3.8 billion is household wealth, and only $2.8 billion of it is attributed to Jay-Z.
In May 2023, Jay-Z and Beyoncé paid $200 million for a Tadao Ando-designed Malibu house, the most expensive home sale in California history. The pair had already bought a Bel Air estate for $88 million in 2017.
