HISTORY


   Brown-Forman was established in 1870 by George Garvin Brown.

   In 1890, George Garvin Brown entered into a partnership with George Forman and changed the name of the company to Brown‑Forman.

   In 1901, Brown‑Forman was incorporated and acquired one of its suppliers, the B.F. Mattingly Distillery, in St Mary’s, Kentucky, establishing the Brown‑Forman Distillery Company, its first distilling operations.

   In 1933, the company was listed on the New York Stock Exchange.

   In 1956, Brown‑Forman acquired Jack Daniel’s.

   In 2004, Finlandia Vodka was acquired.

   In 2007, Casa Herradura was acquired.
