DSV Panalpina A/S is a Danish global supplier of transport and logistics headquartered in Hedehusene, Denmark. It offers transport services globally by road, air, sea and train, as well as courier and logistics solutions.
The company was founded in 1976 when Leif Tullberg and nine independent hauliers established DSV, an initialism for “De Sammensluttede Vognmænd af 13-7 1976 A/S” (The Joint Hauliers of 13-7 1976).
Since its founding, DSV has acquired a number of companies, some of the most important ones being Borup Autotransport A/S and Hammerbro A/S-Bech Trans (1989), Samson Transport Co. A/S (1997), Svex Group A/S (1999), DFDS Dan Transport Group (2000), J.H.Bachmann (2004), the Dutch Frans Maas Group (2006), ABX LOGISTICS (2008), UTi Worldwide, Inc. (2016) and Panalpina Welttransport (Holding) AG (2019).
The company is divided into three divisions: DSV Road, DSV Air & Sea, and DSV Solutions.
DSV Road is one of the leading road freight operators in Europe with distribution networks in North America and Africa. It handles more than 30 million shipments carried by more than 20,000 trucks.
