   Muyuan Foods Co., Ltd. (Muyuan Foodstuff – 牧原食品) is a pig farming company headquartered in Nanyang, Henan, China. It engages in the breeding and distribution of pigs and operates mainly through feed processing, pig breeding, commercial pig farming, slaughtering and processing. Its main products consist of pigs (hogs and boars), piglets, and pork products.

HISTORY


   Muyuan’s origins date back to 1992 when Qin Yinglin and his wife, Qian Ying, started their first farm with just 22 pigs. By 1994, they had 2,000 pigs, and by 1997, they had 10,000 pigs.

   In 2000, Qin Yinglin founded Muyuan Farming, which would eventually become Muyuan Foodstuff. Qin Yinglin, founder and chair of Muyuan Foodstuff, became one of the richest people in China and one of the world’s richest farmers.

   In 2014, Muyuan Food Co., Ltd. (牧原食品) was listed on the Shenzhen Stock Exchange.


   With over 150,000 employees and more than 300 subsidiaries, Muyuan Food Co., Ltd. is considered one of the largest pig breeders in China. According to Forbes, it is considered one of the Largest Public Companies in the World.
