HISTORY


   RTL Group’s history began in 1931 when the Compagnie Luxembourgeoise de Radiodiffusion (CLR) was established.

   In 1954, the company was renamed Compagnie Luxembourgeoise de Télédiffusion (CLT), after entering the world of television broadcasting.

   In 1997, CLT merged with UFA (german television channels such as RTL Television and VOX, and M6 in France) to form CLT-UFA.

   In 2000, CLT-UFA merged with Pearson Television to form RTL Group.

   In July 2000, RTL Group was listed on the London Stock Exchange.
