   Tenet Healthcare Corporation is a multinational healthcare services company headquartered in Dallas, Texas, United States.

HISTORY


   Tenet’s origins date back to 1969 when its predecessor company National Medical Enterprises (NME) was incorporated by attorneys Richard Eamer, Leonard Cohen and John Bedrosian.

   In 1982, four operating groups were established: international, hospitals, nursing homes, and medical products and services.

   In 1990, National Medical Enterprises became one of the nation’s largest hospital care service providers.

   In 1995, National Medical Enterprises (NME) acquired American Medical International (AMI), and the company’s name was changed to Tenet Healthcare.

   In 1998, United Surgical Partners International (USPI) was founded.

   In 2008, Tenet launched Conifer Health Solutions from its existing patient financial services operations.

   In 2010, Tenet launched the Care Fund.

   In 2013, Vanguard Health Systems was acquired.

   In 2015, Tenet merged with USPI to create one of the largest ambulatory surgery platforms in the U.S.

OPERATIONS


   Tenet Healthcare’s operating segments include United Surgical Partners International (USPI), the hospital segment and Conifer Health Solutions.


   With more than 100,000 employees and over 60 operating hospitals and 450 healthcare facilities, Tenet Healthcare Corp. is considered one of the leading health system and services platforms. According to Forbes, it is considered of the Largest Public Companies in the World.
