   Aleris Corporation (Aleris or Aleris International) was a manufacturing company, based in Beachwood, Ohio, United States. It produced aluminum rolled products and a number of different alloys, such as AA7022-T651.

HISTORY


   Aleris was formed in 2004 through the merger of Commonwealth Industries, Inc. and IMCO Recycling, Inc.

   In 2006, the company acquired Corus Group plc, expanded its presence in Europe and China.

   In 2006, Aleris was acquired by Texas Pacific Group (TPG).

   In 2007, it sold a zinc business in order to focus on our core aluminum business.

   In 2020, Aleris Corporation was acquired by Hindalco Industries subsidiary Novelis Inc.


   With more than 5,000 employees, Aleris Corporation was considered one of the Largest Public Companies in the World, according to Forbes.
