   The company operates through the following business sectors: Exploration & Production, Refinery – Petrochemical, Gas Industry, Power Generation, and Petroleum Services.

HISTORY


   Petrovietnam’s origins date back to 1977 when Vietnam Oil and Gas Company was established as a subsidiary of Vietnam Oil and Gas General Department.

   In 1992, Vietnam Oil and Gas Corporation entered under the management of the Council of Ministers.

   In 1995, Vietnam Oil and Gas Corporation was reorganized and engaged in the oil and gas business.

   In 2006, the company changed its name from Vietnam Oil and Gas Corporation to Vietnam Oil and Gas Group.


   With more than 40,000 employees, Vietnam Oil and Gas Group (Petrovietnam) is considered one of the Largest Public Companies in the World, according to Forbes.
