Avaya was established in 2000, as a spin-off from Lucent Technologies. Before being part of Lucent, it had been part of AT&T.
In 2007, Avaya was acquired by TPG Capital and Silver Lake Partners.
In 2017, Avaya was listed on the New York Stock Exchange.
