       EOG Resources, Inc. is an American crude oil and natural gas exploration and production company headquartered in Houston, Texas, U.S. It was founded in 1999 when the company became independent from Enron Corp., which was an American energy, commodities, and services company founded in 1985 as a merger between Houston Natural Gas and InterNorth.

       Before its separation from Enron Corp. in 1999, the company was named Enron Oil & Gas Company, and Mark G. Papa was named Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, in 1998.


       The company is engaged in hydrocarbon exploration, including Crude Oil & Condensate, Natural Gas Liquids, or Natural Gas, with proved reserves in the United States, Trinidad and China.

       With more than 2 900 employees, EOG Resources, Inc. is a Fortune 500 company, and it is considered one of the largest crude oil and natural gas exploration and production companies in the United States. According to Forbes, it is considered one of the top 2000 largest public companies in the world.
