The Gases division involves production, sale, and distribution of gases used in medicine, environmental protection, and research industries. The Engineering division designs and builds plant used for the production of hydrogen and synthesis gases, as well as, air separation and pharmaceuticals. It also manufactures plant components and offers specialized services. The Other division comprises Gist, which provides logistics and supply chain solutions. The company was founded by Carl Paul Gottfried von Linde on June 21, 1879 and is headquartered in Munich, Germany.“
