New Hope Liuhe Co., Ltd. was founded and listed on the Shenzhen Stock Exchange in 1998 as Sichuan New Hope Agribusiness Co., Ltd.
In 2005, New Hope Group acquired Shandong Liuhe Group to build a world-class farming enterprise. New Hope Group was founded in 1982 by the entrepreneur Liu Yonghao. Liu and his three brothers jointly started their business in animal husbandry.
In 2006, Qianxihe group, the exclusive supplier of pork food for the 2008 Olympic Games, was acquired.
In 2011, New Hope Group finalized asset restructuring for New Hope Liuhe Co., Ltd., which became the largest listed agricultural and animal husbandry enterprise in China.
