NOVATEK JSC is a Russian natural gas and liquid hydrocarbon producer headquartered in Tarko-Sale, Russia. It started in August 1994, when AOOT FIK Novafininvest was established (the name was changed to OAO NOVATEK later).
The company operates through the following segments: Exploration Activities, Production, Processing, and Marketing.
Exploration Activities
The Exploration Activities segment uses a systematic and comprehensive approach to exploration and development of its fields and license areas, from the collection and interpretation of seismic data to the creation of dynamic field models for the placement of exploration and production wells.
Production
The Production segment focuses on the production of natural gas and liquid hydrocarbons (stable gas condensate, petroleum products, light hydrocarbons, LPG and crude oil).
Processing
The Processing segment implies the production of natural gas with a significant content of liquid hydrocarbons (gas condensate).

With more than 5 000 employees, NOVATEK JSC is considered one of the largest natural gas producers in Russia and one of the largest publicly traded companies globally by natural gas production volume. According to Forbes, it is considered one of the top 2000 largest public companies in the world.
