Baoshan Iron & Steel Co., Ltd., also known as Baosteel, is an iron and steel company headquartered in Shanghai, China, and a core subsidiary of state-owned China Baowu Steel Group Corporation (formerly Baosteel Group), which is a state-owned iron and steel company and a Fortune’s Global 500 company. It was established in 2000, when the Baosteel Group split, creating the new Baoshan Iron & Steel Co., Ltd.
The company is engaged in the manufacture and sale of steel products, such as: Hot Rolled Steel, HR Steel Sheet (Pickled), Cold Rolls (CR) Steel Sheet, Galvanized steel sheet, Prepainted Steel Sheet, Tin plate and TFS(ECCS), Electrical steel sheet, Heavy Plate, Pipe & Tube, Bar & Wire rod, Stainless Steel, and Special Steel.
It owned several major steel plants, including Meishan Iron & Steel Co., Ltd., Zhanjiang Iron & Steel Co., Ltd., and Wuhan Iron and Steel Group (WISCO). It also owned another listed company Baosight Software, as well as other subsidiaries and joint ventures.
