BCE Inc. (formerly Bell Canada Enterprises Inc.) is a Canadian holding company headquartered in Montreal, Quebec, Canada.

In 1876, Alexander Graham Bell received a Canadian patent for the Bell telephone. He later transferred 75% of these rights to his father Melville, who proceeded to start up a telephone company in Canada.
