       BOK Financial Corporation is a financial services holding company, headquartered in Tulsa, Oklahoma, United States.

    HISTORY


       The company began its operations in 1910 when Harry Sinclair and other noted Oklahoma oilmen founded Exchange National Bank of Tulsa during the early-century oil boom. Known at the time as “The Oil Bank of America,” Exchange National Bank of Tulsa partnered with local oilmen and became responsible for much of the financing for oil development in the region.

       In 1933, the Exchange National Bank of Tulsa was renamed National Bank of Tulsa.

       In 1975, the National Bank of Tulsa was renamed Bank of Oklahoma to reflect its statewide approach.

       In 1991, the company acquired a brokerage firm, now known as BOK Financial Securities.

       In 1997, the Bank of Texas was acquired.

       In 1998, the company acquired 17 branches in New Mexico that were renamed Bank of Albuquerque.

       In 2016, the company acquired MBT Bancshares, the parent company of Missouri Bank and Trust of Kansas City.

       In 2018, the company acquired Colorado-based CoBiz Financial, expanding its presence in Colorado and Arizona.

       BOK Financial Corporation provides financial solutions to businesses, institutions and individuals across the United States. It provides banking, fiduciary and investment services through its regional bank brands, a broker-dealer, investment advisor firms, and an electronic funds network.
