       Korea Investment Holdings Co., Ltd. (KIH) is a non-bank financial holding company with a diversified business line including securities, asset management, savings bank, credit finance, venture capital, PEF, and real estate trust. It is headquartered in Seoul, South Korea.

    HISTORY


    Financial Holding Company.

       In 2002, Financial Holding Company obtained a preliminary permit for financial holding.

       In January 2003, the company split off from Dongwon Industry Co., Ltd and established Dongwon Finance Co. Ltd.

       In May 2003, it obtained the permit for financial holding company and launched Dongwon Financial Holdings

       In July 2003, Dongwon Securities became a wholly-owned subsidiary of Dongwon Financial Holdings after an all-inclusive exchange of shares. In the same month, Dongwon Securities Co., Ltd. (100% owned by Dongwon Financial Holdings) was de-listed, and Dongwon Financial Holdings was listed on KOSPI.

       In 2004, the company was excluded from Dongwon Group in accordance with the Enforcement decree of Monopoly and Fair-trade act 3-2.

    Korea Investment Group.

       In March 2005, the company acquired a 100% stake in Korea Investment Trust Co., Ltd. from Korea Deposit Insurance Corporation (“KDIC”) and incorporated it as a wholly-owned subsidiary.

       In May 2005, the company changed its name to Korea Investment Holdings Co. Ltd. (“KIH”).

       In June 2005, Dongwon Securities Co., Ltd merged with Korea Investment Trust Co., Ltd.

       In July 2005, Korea Investment Trust Management merged with Dongwon Investment Trust Management

       In February 2006, Korea Value Asset Management was established.

       In March 2006, Cornerstone Equity Partners was established.

       In October 2006, Korea Investment Corporation launched Online Stock Service “BanKIS”.

       In February 2008, Korea Investment & Securities Asia, Ltd. was established in Singapore. The same month, K-Atlas Advisors and K-Atlas in Singapore (currently renamed as KIARA Advisors and KIARA Capital) were established.

       In October, Korea Investment Asset Management Holdings was established as an intermediate holding company, and incorporated KIM & KIVAM as its subsidiaries.

       In August 2009, KIM Asia Ltd. (Korea Investment Management Asia Ltd.) was established in Hong Kong.

       In November 2010, KIS Vietnam Securities Corporation was included as a subsidiary.

       In 2011, Korea Investment & Securities obtained a license for Prime Brokerage Service.

       In 2012, Korea Investment Holdings merged with Korea Investment Asset Management Holdings.

       In 2013, Korea Investment Corporation was designated as a Comprehensive Financial Investment Business Entity by acquiring Korea Investment Banking License under Financial Investment Services and Capital Markets Act.

       In 2014, Korea Investment Capital was established as a subsidiary of KIS.

       In January 2016, EQ Partners (Currently Korea Investment Private Equity), was incorporated as a subsidiary and Kakao of Korea (Currently Kakaobank) was established as a subsidiary of KIH.

       In November 2016, the company acquired a 4% stake in Woori Bank from Korea Deposit Insurance Corporation.

       In 2017, Kakao of Korea changed its name to KakaoBank of Korea and obtained a banking license from the Financial Services Commission of Korea.

       In 2018, PT Korea Investment & Sekuritas Indonesia was acquired.

       In May 2019, Korea Investment Real Estate Trust was established as a subsidiary of KIH.

       In November 2019, KakaoBank was excluded from KIH group after KIC disposed of a portion of KakaoBank shares.

       In 2020, the company changed its name to Korea Investment Private Equity from EQ Partners

       In January 2021, KI&S US as a subsidiary of KIS was established.

       In December 2021, Korea Investment Accelerator was established as a subsidiary of KIH.
