Walker launches priceline.com with its famous Name Your Own Price® service, which represents a pricing strategy under which buyers make a suggestion for a product’s price.
The name of the company was changed from priceline.com Incorporated to The Priceline Group Inc., on April 1, 2014, and it was also changed from The Priceline Group Inc. to Booking Holdings Inc., on February 21, 2018.
The company owns and operates several travel fare aggregators and travel fare metasearch engines, and provides its online travel and related services through six primary consumer-facing brands – Booking.com, KAYAK, Priceline, agoda.com, Rentalcars.com and OpenTable. Other important namesake and flagship of the company are Cheapflights, momondo, and Mundi.
