       Daqin Railway Co., Ltd. is a diversified railway transport company headquartered in Datong, Shanxi, China. It was founded on October 26, 2004, and listed on the Shanghai Stock Exchange in 2006.

       Daqin Railway was China’s first listed railway enterprise focusing on core trunk lines of road network.

       In 2010, the company purchased the major business assets and relevant equities of the Taiyuan Railway Administration.

       The parent company of Daqin Railway was China Railway Taiyuan Group, known as CR Taiyuan (formerly Taiyuan Railway Administration), a state-owned enterprise that the China State Railway Group Company, Ltd. acted as its only shareholder.


    The company operates through the following segments: Passenger Service and Freight Service.

    Passenger Service

       Daqin Railway operates passenger trains from Taiyuan to Beijing, Tianjin, Harbin, Guangzhou, Lanzhou, Shanghai, Chengdu, Chongqing, Yichang, Qingdao, Xiamen, Hangzhou, Lianyungang, Wuhan, Baotou, Baoji and Shijiazhuang and from Datong to Beijing, Tianjin, Baotou, Ganzhou, Hangzhou, Shenyang, Xi’an, and Shenzhen.

    Freight Service

       Daqin Railway is charged with the whole freight transport of Shanxi and part of the freight in Hebei, Beijing, Tianjin, Inner Mongolia, Shaanxi and other provinces, cities and districts. With coal transportation as its main business, the Company is as well engaged in the transportation of coke, cement, non-metallic ores, iron and steel, woods, metallic minerals and etc.


       With more than 96,000 employees, Daqin Railway Co., Ltd. is considered one of the Top 2000 Largest Public Companies in the World, according to Forbes.
