Gree Electric Appliances, Inc. of Zhuhai is a Chinese appliance manufacturer headquartered in Zhuhai, Guangdong, China. It was founded in Aug. 1991, when Guanxiong and Haili were incorporated into one company called Gree Air Conditioner Factory.
However, the company’s history can be traced back to 1985, when Industrial Development Co. of Zhuhai SEC (predecessor of Gree Group), Guanxiong Plastic Company, and Haili Air Conditioner Factory were set up.
In 1994, it was restructured and renamed as Gree Electric Appliances Inc. of Zhuhai.
Over the years, the company has grown into a diversified technological global industrial group that has expanded its business to residential air conditioners, commercial air conditioners, air to water heat pumps, home appliances, refrigerators, Gree smartphones, and industrial products.
With more than 85 000 employees and with products sold widely to more than 160 countries and regions, Gree Electric Appliances, Inc. of Zhuhai is considered one of the world’s largest residential air-conditioner manufacturers. According to Forbes, it is considered one of the top 2000 largest public companies in the world and one of the “Top Regarded Companies“.
