    HISTORY

       Ingram Micro was established in 1979 as Micro D.

       In 1989, Ingram Industries acquired Micro D, Inc. and merged it with Ingram Computer (Buffalo) to form the privately held company, Ingram Micro D.

       In 1991, the “D” in the company name was dropped, and “Ingram Micro” was created.

       In 1996, Ingram Micro spun off from Ingram Industries and became a public company listed on the New York Stock Exchange.

       In 2018, Ingram Micro partnered with Microsoft to create a new cloud commerce platform, CloudBlue.


       With more than 28,000 employees, Ingram Micro is considered one of the Largest Public Companies in the World, according to Forbes.
