BetZillion is a sports betting information platform focused on bookmaker reviews, betting guides, odds, comparison tools, and market research.
The project started taking shape in May 2020 and launched publicly in July 2021. Its founder and CEO is Sergio Collins, while Spark Media LTD, a company registered in Malta, operates the website.
The platform initially focused on sportsbook reviews and betting guides. It later expanded into country-specific market coverage, bookmaker comparison tools, user accounts, integrated odds, and betting research. Its contributors now cover markets across Africa, Europe, North America, Latin America, and Oceania.
BetZillion today operates as a sports betting information and comparison business with both international and market-specific content.
From Reviews to Local Betting Markets
BetZillion initially concentrated on general sportsbook reviews. Over time, its coverage became more market-specific because betting conditions vary considerably between countries.
Licensing systems, payment methods, currencies, popular sports, available bookmakers, taxation, responsible gambling rules, and product features can all differ by jurisdiction.
A bookmaker available in one country may be restricted in another, while payment methods that are common in one market may have little relevance elsewhere.
For that reason, BetZillion publishes separate country guides rather than applying the same bookmaker list across multiple markets.
The approach is used across Europe, Africa, the Americas, Oceania, and other regions. Each local guide can therefore place more emphasis on factors that are relevant to users in that particular country.
A Local Market in Practice: Uganda
Uganda shows how this market-specific review process works. The same approach is used in BetZillion’s guide to the best online betting sites in Uganda, where bookmakers are assessed within the local regulatory, payment, and betting environment rather than through a general global ranking.
The first step is regulatory research. Uganda has a regulated gambling market overseen by the National Lotteries and Gaming Regulatory Board (NLGRB). Before individual bookmakers are assessed, the process checks the regulator’s current list of licensed companies and identifies which operators are authorised for betting.
This creates a distinction between locally licensed bookmakers and offshore platforms that may still be accessible from Uganda. The two are not treated as equivalent simply because both accept Ugandan users.
Payments come next. MTN Mobile Money and Airtel Money are central to the local payment environment, so reviews check whether operators support them for deposits and withdrawals, along with minimum and maximum amounts, fees, processing times, and the steps needed to complete a transaction.
Some of this cannot be verified from outside the country: for the Uganda guide, BetZillion worked with a local user who followed the testing instructions and checked payment and betting flows from Uganda.
The process also reviews how each sportsbook behaves on a phone and whether Android or iOS applications are available.
Sportsbook testing then covers the betting product itself. For football, this includes the number and type of markets on major competitions, the presence of local competitions such as the Uganda Premier League, pre-match and live odds, outrights, and features such as Cash Out, Bet Builder, or early-payout products.
Odds are checked directly rather than judged by the number of markets alone, with comparable selections used to calculate bookmaker margins and identify pricing differences between operators.
Bonus terms are reviewed separately from headline promotional amounts, including minimum deposits, qualifying odds, accumulator requirements, turnover conditions, expiry periods, and withdrawal restrictions.
The process also records limitations. If a local league is missing, a payment method cannot be confirmed, a feature is unavailable, or important information is only visible after registration, that can be stated in the review.
Uganda therefore illustrates why a country guide requires more than changing the currency or adding locally available brands. Regulation, payments, product availability, and user experience all need to be checked within the market being covered.
How BetZillion Works Today?
BetZillion is an information and comparison platform rather than a bookmaker. It does not accept bets, maintain player balances, or process gambling deposits and withdrawals.
The website is operated by Spark Media LTD, company number C 107084, registered in Santa Venera, Malta.
Part of the business model is based on advertising and affiliate partnerships. Some links to bookmakers can generate a commission when a reader visits or registers with an operator.
BetZillion states that it separates editorial and commercial functions through an Editorial Wall policy. Under this model, writers and editors are separated from monetisation decisions, while paid placements are identified as advertising.
The platform also operates several betting-related tools. In December 2023, it introduced an Odds Monitor, a Bookmaker Comparison Tool, and an Ask an Expert feature.
The comparison tool displays bookmaker information in a standardised format, while the Odds Monitor is designed to compare prices available across different sportsbooks.
BetZillion also publishes material on the wider sports betting industry. In 2025, its research included subjects such as betting demographics, player behaviour, regulation, and market trends.
Representatives of the company have also attended industry events including ICE London, iGB Affiliate London, the Sustainable Gambling Conference, and SiGMA Europe.
Its contributors include journalists, bookmaker reviewers, sports writers, analysts, and betting specialists. Sergio Collins has served as CEO since 2021 and contributed to the project before its public launch. His public profile also lists Online Sportsbook Management training from iGaming Academy.
The current platform therefore combines bookmaker reviews, country-specific research, betting data, comparison tools, and industry-related content.
Outside Coverage and Industry Presence
In February 2025, industry publication Yogonet published an interview with BetZillion CEO Sergio Collins covering responsible betting, affiliate marketing, and the role of information platforms in the gambling sector.
Collins discussed player protection tools, how bookmakers are vetted for those features, and the relationship between editorial content and affiliate partnerships.
External coverage of this kind matters because comparison platforms operate in a sector where readers rely on published information before choosing an operator.
Alongside its own bookmaker pages, the company’s public activity includes participation in industry discussions about affiliate marketing, sports betting information, and player protection.

What BetZillion Has Become?
BetZillion began as a sports betting content project and has gradually expanded the range of information and tools it publishes.
Its current structure includes bookmaker reviews, country-specific guides, bookmaker comparisons, odds data, betting tools, and research into the wider gambling industry.
The development also reflects changes in the sports betting affiliate sector. Comparison websites increasingly publish information about local licensing, payments, responsible gambling requirements, sportsbook features, and market-specific conditions alongside traditional bookmaker reviews.
BetZillion follows this model through a combination of international coverage and country-level research. The Uganda guide provides one example: regulatory status, local payment methods, mobile access, football markets, odds, and practical account testing are considered within the context of one individual market.
Affiliate partnerships remain part of the company’s revenue model. At the same time, the platform publishes information about its editorial process, review methodology, ownership, tools, and commercial relationships.
The result is a sports betting information business whose activities now extend beyond its original focus on bookmaker reviews.
