KB Financial Group, Inc. is a Korean financial services company headquartered in Seoul, South Korea. The birth of the group begins when the old Kookmin Bank and Housing & Commercial Bank signed the merger agreement, and it was officially founded in 2008.
Both former Kookmin Bank and former Housing & Commercial Bank were founded in 1964 and 1967 respectively, by the Korean government for special purposes.
The group provides a wide range of financial products and services, and its major subsidiaries include: KB Kookmin Bank, KB Securities, KB Insurance, KB Kookmin Card, KB Asset Management, KB Capital, KB Life Insurance, KB Real Estate Trust, KB Savings Bank, KB Investment, KB Data Systems and KB Credit Information.
KB Financial Group is considered one of the largest Korea’s financial services providers, and its subsidiary KB Kookmin Bank is considered one of the largest banks in Korea. According to Forbes, it is considered one of the top 2000 largest public companies in the world.
