       KeyCorp operates as a bank holding company for its primary subsidiary KeyBank, which is a regional bank headquartered in Cleveland, Ohio, U.S. It was formed in 1994 through the merger of Society Corporation of Cleveland (“Society Bank”) and KeyCorp (“Old KeyCorp”) of Albany, New York.

       The company’s roots trace back to the founding of Commercial Bank of Albany, in New York in 1825 and Cleveland’s Society for Savings, founded in 1849.


       The company operates through the following business segments: Personal, Small Business, Wealth Management, and Business & Institutions.

    Personal

       The Personal segment provides checkings, savings, home loans & mortgages, loans & lines of credit, credit cards, investments, insurance.

    Small business

       The Small business segment involves checkings, savings, credit cards, loans & lines of credit, cash management.

    Wealth Management

       The Wealth Management segment implies financial planning, investment management, trust & estate planning

    Business & Institutions

       The Business & Institutions. segment focusses on investment banking & capital markets, banking solutions, financing, commercial payments, cybersecurity, employer solutions.


       With over 17 000 employees and more than 1200 branches in 39 states, KeyBank is considered a Fortune 500 company and one of the largest banks in the U.S.  According to Forbes, it is considered one of America’s Best Banks and one of the top 2000 largest public companies in the world.
