It operates through five reporting segments: Risk, Savings, Investment Management, International, and Group Capital and Financing. The Risk segment comprises individual and group protection, individual and bulk purchase annuities, and longevity and general insurance together with estate agencies and the housing related business conducted through its regulated mortgage network. The Savings segment offers non profit investment bonds, non profit pensions, individual savings accounts, retail unit trusts, retail platform businesses, and all with-profits products. The Investment Management segment comprises institutional fund management, and legal and general investment management. The International segment operates its business through its divisions and joint ventures, including Legal & General America, Legal & General France, and Legal & General Netherlands. Legal & General Group was founded on September 19, 1836 and is headquartered in London, the United Kingdom.
