       Rocket Mortgage, LLC (formerly known as Quicken Loans LLC) is a mortgage loan provider headquartered in Detroit, Michigan, United States.


       Rocket Mortgage (formerly Quicken Loans) was originally founded in 1985 as Rock Financial Mortgage by Dan Gilbert, Ron Berman, Lindsay Gross, and Gary Gilbert.

       In 1987, the company changed its name to Rock Financial Corp.

       In 1999, Rock Financial was acquired by Intuit Inc. and was renamed Quicken Loans.

       In 2002, Gilbert led a small group of private investors in purchasing the Quicken Loans subsidiary back from Intuit.

       In 2020, Rocket Companies, the parent company to Rocket Mortgage and other FinTech brands, was listed on the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE) as a publicly traded entity.

       In 2021, Quicken Loans officially changed its name to Rocket Mortgage.

       With more than 24,000 employees, Rocket Mortgage is considered one of the largest mortgage lenders in the USA. According to Forbes, it is considered one of the Largest Public Companies in the World.
