   The Siam Cement Group Public Company Limited (SCG) is a conglomerate headquartered in Bangkok, Thailand. It was established in 1913 following a royal decree of His Majesty King Rama VI to produce cement, the main building material for infrastructure projects.


   The company operates through the following business segments: Cement-Building Materials, Chemicals, Packaging, and Investment.

Cement-Building Materials

   The Cement-Building Materials segment manufactures and sells cement, ready-mixed concrete, dry mortar, roof tiles, concrete paving blocks, ceramic tiles, sanitary wares, and sanitary fittings. It is also engaged in the distribution of cement and building and decorative products, as well as in the importing of fuel products, waste paper, and scrap iron.

Chemicals

   The Chemicals segment manufactures and sells olefins, polyolefins, and other chemical products.

Packaging

   The Packaging segment manufactures and sells pulp, printing and writing paper, kraft paper, gypsum linerboard and corrugated boxes.

Investment

   Cementhai Holding Co., Ltd. oversees SCG’s investment in various businesses. Most are joint ventures with internationally renowned companies, for examples, Kubota, Yamato Kogyo, Aisin Takaoka Group, Nippon Steel, Toyota Motor, Michelin, Hayes Lemmerz, Siam Mitsui, Dow Chemical company, etc. It also takes care of industrial land business which has been alliance with Hemaraj Development.


   With more than 68,000 employees, the Siam Cement Public Co. Ltd. is the oldest and one of the largest cement and building material companies in Thailand and Southeast Asia. According to Forbes, it is considered one of the Top 2000 Largest Public Companies in the World.
