       Towers Watson & Co. was a global professional services firm headquartered in Arlington, Virginia, United States. It provided risk management and human resource consulting.

    HISTORY


       Towers Watson & Co. was formed in 2010 when Towers Perrin merged with Watson Wyatt Worldwide.

       Towers Watson is the successor to R. Watson & Sons, formed in the UK in 1878. Towers, Perrin, Forster & Crosby was established in the U.S. in 1934, although one of its predecessor firms, the insurance broker Henry W. Brown & Co., was founded in 1871. In 1987, the company shortened its name to Towers Perrin.

       The Wyatt Company was founded by B. E. Wyatt as an actuarial consulting firm in the USA with seven co-founders in 1946. The two firms formed a global alliance under the brand Watson Wyatt Worldwide in 1995 and formally merged in 2005.

       In 2009, the two firms announced they would merge in a merger of equals.

       In 2010, Towers Perrin merged with Watson Wyatt Worldwide to form Towers Watson & Co.

       In 2011, Towers Watson acquired EMB Consultancy, which specializes in property & casualty consulting. and also had software dealing with pricing, reserving, spatial smoothing analysis, capital, and risk modeling.

       In 2016, Towers Watson & Co. merged with Willis Group Holdings Plc to create Willis Towers Watson.”
