       Alpiq Holding Ltd. is a Swiss energy services provider and electricity producer in Europe. It is headquartered in Lausanne, Switzerland.

       The company offers services in the fields of energy generation and marketing as well as energy optimization. Its power plant portfolio comprises hydropower plants, nuclear power plants, as well as flexible thermal power plants, wind farms, and photovoltaic systems.

    HISTORY


       Alpiq was established in 2009 as a result of the merger of Atel Holding AG (Aare-Tessin AG für Elektrizität) and EOS S.A. (Energie Ouest Suisse). Atel (Aare-Tessin Ltd. for Electricity) was founded as a regional electrical utility in 1894, and EOS (Energie Ouest Suisse) was founded in 1919 by electricity companies in Western Switzerland.

       In 2012, Alpiq entered the e-mobility market with Alpiq E-Mobility AG.

       In 2018, Alpiq sold its energy services business to Bouygues.
