       China COSCO Shipping Corporation Limited is a Chinese multinational conglomerate headquartered in Shanghai, China. It was established in 2016 through the merger of COSCO Group and China Shipping Group.

       China Ocean Shipping Company, Ltd., commonly known for its abbreviated name COSCO Group, or simply, COSCO, was a Chinese state-owned multinational shipping and logistics services supplier company. Founded in 1961, it was one of China’s largest dry bulk carriers and one of the largest dry bulk shipping operators worldwide. Its container shipping subsidiary, COSCO Container Lines, was one of the world’s top 10 container carriers in terms of fleet capacity.

       In 1993, the company became a holding company and renamed as China Ocean Shipping (Group) Company.

       China Shipping (Group) Company was a Chinese state-owned multinational transportation conglomerate founded in 1997 by a merger of three Chinese Government-owned shipping conglomerates, based in Shanghai, Guangzhou, and Dalian respectively.


       The Group operates through the following business segments: Shipping industrial cluster, Logistics industrial cluster, Finance industrial cluster, Equipment manufacturing industrial cluster, Shipping services cluster, Social services industrial cluster, and “Internet Plus” business.
