     Continental AG is engaged in manufacture and sale of soft rubber products, rubberized fabrics, and solid tires for carriages and bicycles. It operates through the following segments; Chassis and Safety, Powertrain, Interior, Tires, ContiTech, and Other. The Chassis and Safety segment develops and produces active and passive safety systems; electronic and hydraulic brake systems; passive safety and sensorics; advanced driver assistance systems; and chassis components. The Powertrain segment is divided into engine systems, transmission, hybrid electric vehicle, sensors and actuators, and fuel supply business units. The Interior segment offers solutions for information management in order to network drivers and passengers with their own and other vehicles, the environment, and mobile devices. The Tires segment markets tires for passenger cars, trucks, buses, construction site and industrial vehicles, bicycles, and motorcycles. The ContiTech segment develops rubber and plastics products for the automotive, mining, printing, commercial vehicle, machinery and plant construction, aviation and aerospace, and railway engineering industries. The Other segment comprises of subsidiaries and affiliates such as holding, financing, and insurance companies, as well as the holding function of the company. The company was founded on October 8, 1871 and is headquartered in Hanover, Germany.“
