       Graybar’s history began in 1869 when the entrepreneur Enos Barton and inventor Elisha Gray co-founded Gray & Barton.

       In 1872, the Western Electric Manufacturing Company was incorporated.

       In 1925, the Graybar Electric Company was incorporated as the successor company of the general electric supply business of the Western Electric Company.
