HISTORY


   Intu Properties was established in 1980 by Sir Donald Gordon, under the name Transatlantic Insurance Holdings as a branch of Liberty Life Association of Africa.

   In 1992, the company merged with Capital & Counties and was listed on the London Stock Exchange.

   In 1996, the company changed its name to Liberty International.

   In 2010, it changed its name to Capital Shopping Centres Group plc after demerging its Capital & Counties Properties business unit.

   In 2013, the company was rebranded and changed its name to Intu Properties.

   In 2019, Intu went into administration.

   In 2020, Intu SGS, a subsidiary of Intu, took full control of the company and its properties.


Intu Properties was considered one of the Largest Public Companies in the World, according to Forbes.
