       Corteva, Inc., also known as Corteva Agriscience, is an American agricultural chemical and seed company that was the agricultural business unit of DowDuPont. It was formed on June 1, 2019, when Corteva spins from DowDuPont, becoming an independent public company.

       DowDuPont was formed through a merger of DowChemical and E. I. du Pont de Nemours and Co. on August 31, 2017, with the intention to subsequently spin off into three publicly traded companies in Agriculture (CortevaAgriscience), Materials Science (Dow, Inc.), and Specialty Products (DuPont de Nemours, Inc.).

       According to DowDuPont, the name of the new standalone company ”Corteva” was “derived from a combination of words meaning ‘heart‘ and ‘nature.'”.


       Combining the strengths of DuPont Pioneer, DuPont Crop Protection and Dow AgroSciences, Corteva is an agriscience company completely dedicated to agriculture, operating through the following business segments: Seeds and Crop Protection.

    Seeds

       The Brevant seeds brand offers corn and soybean genetics, technology and traits, including the proprietary library of corn germplasm. The Brevant brand seed products are available in a range of crops including soy, sorghum, corn, and wheat.

    Crop Protection

       The Crop Protection offers products that protect against weeds, insects and other pests, and diseases.

       The company’s services include Anti-counterfeit & Brand Protection solutions and Software Solutions & Digital Services, including Pasture and land management, Pest management, or solutions for keeping turfgrass and ornamental plants thriving.


       With more than 21 000 employees, the company is headquartered in Wilmington, Delaware, United States. According to Forbes, it is considered one of the top 2000 largest public companies in the world.
