DuPont de Nemours, Inc. history, profile and corporate video

DuPont de Nemours, Inc., commonly known as DuPont, is an American company formed through a merger of Dow Chemical and E. I. du Pont de Nemours and Co. on August 31, 2017. Dow and DuPont entered into a “merger of equals” with the intention to create a new company called DowDupont, then subsequently spin off into three independent companies.

Within the 18 months of the merger, DowDupont was split into three independent publicly traded companies: an agriculture company, a materials science company, and a specialty products company.

    • The DowDuPont Agriculture Division became Corteva Agriscience and united Dow and DuPont‘s seed and crop protection units.
    • The DowDuPont Materials Science Division became Dow, Inc. and consisted of DuPont‘s Performance Materials unit, along with Dow‘s Performance Plastics, Materials and Chemicals, Infrastructure and Consumer Solutions, but excludes Dow’s Electronic Materials business.
    • The DowDuPont Specialty Products Division became DuPont de Nemours, Inc., continuing to carry the name DuPont. This division included DuPont‘s Nutrition & Health, Industrial Biosciences, Safety & Protection, and Electronics & Communications, as well as Dow‘s aforementioned Electronic Materials business.

On February 1, 2021, DuPont completed the separation of its Nutrition & Biosciences (N&B) business and as part of the transaction, DuPont’s N&B business merged with International Flavors & Fragrances (IFF), an American producer of flavors, fragrances, and cosmetic actives.
