Omnicom Group Inc. is an American global media, marketing and corporate communications holding company, headquartered in New York City, United States. It was founded in 1986 when Allen Rosenshine, Keith Reinhard and John Bernbach (son of William Bernbach) co-created Omnicom in a three-way merger of BBDO Worldwide, Doyle Dane Bernbach and Needham Harper Worldwide.
In July 2013, it was announced that Publicis Groupe and Omnicom Group would merge to form Publicis Omnicom Group, but by May 2014 the deal had fallen through and the merger would not happen.
Omnicom is an inter-connected global network of leading marketing communications companies. It offers a diverse range of marketing solutions spanning brand advertising, customer relationship management (CRM), media planning and buying services, public relations, and numerous specialty communications services.
The group’s portfolio includes three global advertising agency networks (BBDO, DDB, and TBWA) and three of the world’s premier providers of media services(OMD, PHD, and Hearts & Science as part of Omnicom Media Group). It also manages a globally diversified group of agencies, under the DAS Group of Companies.
