       Shanghai International Port (Group) Co., Ltd. (SIPG) (上海国际港务(集团)股份有限公司), operator of public terminals in the Port of Shanghai, is a specialized conglomerate headquartered in Shanghai, China.

       SPIG’s main businesses include port handling operations, integrated logistics services, port-related services, and port investment businesses.

       The company owns and operates the professional football club Shanghai Port. SPIG is also one of the major shareholders of the Bank of Shanghai.

    HISTORY


       Shanghai International Port (Group) Co., Ltd. was established in January 2003 through the restructuring of the Shanghai Port Authority.

       In 2005, it became a shareholding company.

       In 2006, SIPG was listed on the Shanghai Stock Exchange, becoming the first company in port operation to go public in China.

       SIPG has 12 branches in Shanghai, 3 internal organizations, 31 second-tier subsidiaries (wholly-owned and holding), and 13 companies with equity investment.


       With more than 13,000 employees, Shanghai International Port (Group) Co., Ltd. (SIPG) is considered one of the world’s largest listed companies in port operation. According to Forbes, it is considered one of the Largest Public Companies in the World.
