Banco BTG Pactual SA is a Brazilian financial company headquartered in São Paulo, Brazil. It was established as Pactual DTVM, a small Securities Dealer, in 1983 by the founders André Jacurski, Luiz Cezar Fernandes, and Paulo Guedes.
In 1989, the company began its operations as a Bank and opening of an office in São Paulo.
In 1990, it began the Wealth Management activities.
In 2000, Pactual Asset Management was established.
In 2006, UBS acquired Banco Pactual, creating UBS Pactual.
In 2008, BTG is founded by a group of former partners of the former Pactual and former executives of UBS.
In 2009, BTG acquired UBS Pactual, creating BTG Pactual.
In 2012, Celfin Capital (Chile) and Bolsa y Renta (Colombia) were acquired.
In 2014, the company acquired BSI, a private bank based in Switzerland.
The company operates through the following segments: Investment Bank, Wealth Management, Corporate Lending, Sales & Trading, Asset Management, and Analysis & Research.
Investment Bank
The Investment Bank segment consists of advisory services in mergers and acquisitions, divestitures, restructuring, spin-offs, reorganizations and other corporate operations. It also involves Equity Capital Market (ECM), Debt Capital Market (DCM), and financial advisory, issuance coordination and specific financing structures for energy and infrastructure projects.
Wealth Management
The Wealth Management segment involves investment advisory and financial planning services and investment products to high net worth individuals. It also offers financial advisory services to families that need to protect and expand their wealth, as well as succession and real estate planning.
Corporate Lending
The Corporate Lending segment engages in financing, structured credit and loan guarantees to large and medium-sized companies.
Sales & Trading
In the Sales & Trading segment, the company offers products and services in the local and international markets as market making, brokerage and settlement, transactions with derivatives, interest rates, exchange, equities, energy, insurance and reinsurance. These activities are split into the segments FICC (Fixed Income, Currencies and Commodities), Equities Sales & Trading and Energy.
Asset Management
The Asset Management segment consists of consultancy and investment solutions in fixed income, variable income, hedge funds, infrastructure and real estate opportunities, and public and private equity funds.
Analysis & Research
The Analysis & Research segment offers access to the appraisals and quantitative and qualitative analytical models. The Research area is split into three different and supplementary analysis groups: Macroeconomic Analysis, Equity Analysis, And Fixed Income Analysis.
