       Beijing Enterprises Holdings Ltd. (BEHL) is a holding company headquartered in Hong Kong.

       Since its founding in 1997, BEHL became an integrated public utility company with its core business covering city gas, water treatment and solid waste treatment. It also engages in the investment business, which comprises mainly the ownership of Yanjing Beer, one of the largest beer conglomerates in China and one of the largest breweries in Asia.

       BEHL owns overseas assets, including water treatment projects in Malaysia and Portugal, and energy from waste projects in Germany, Luxembourg, and the Netherlands.

    HISTORY


       Beijing Enterprises Holdings Limited was formed in 1997 upon the reorganization of eight units of assets (Yanjing Beer, Sanyuan Foods, Beijing Western Style Food, Beijing Airport Expressway, Badaling Tourism, Wangfujing Department Store, Jianguo Hotel, and Beijing International Switching System) in Beijing, China. BEHL was also listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange in 1997.

       In 2004, the company initiated a joint reorganization with Beijing Gas.

       In 2007, BEHL acquired Beijing Gas.

       In 2008, the company formed BE Water.

       In 2009, it implemented the development strategies for the solid waste treatment business.

       In 2012, the company further divested non-core business segments, consolidating assets in water treatment.

       In 2013, BEHL invested in China Gas.

       In 2016, BEHL acquired EEW Energy from Waste GmbH.

       In 2017, BEHL invested in the VCNG project of Rosneft and extended its chain business to the upstream oil and gas fields.


       With more than 37,000 employees, Beijing Enterprises Holdings Ltd. is considered one of the Largest Public Companies in the World, according to Forbes.
