       Yuanta Financial Holding Co. Ltd. is a financial holding company headquartered in Taipei, Taiwan.

    HISTORY


       Yuanta Financial Holdings was formed in 2007 through the merger of Fuhwa Financial Holdings and Yuanta Core Pacific Securities.

    Yuanta Core Pacific Securities

       The history of Yuanta began in 1961 when it received approval to open for business as a securities brokerage.

       In 1989, Yuanta expanded its business operations to underwriting and proprietary trading, becoming a fully integrated securities company.

       In 1994, Yuanta established its subsidiary in Hong Kong.

       In 1995, Yuanta was listed for OTC trading.

       In 1996, Yuanta acquired Hong Kong’s First Shanghai Brokerage and Finance Co., Ltd., and established Yuanta First Brokerage Co., Ltd.

       In 1998, Yuanta acquired 92.5% equity of Thailand’s Cathay Capital Securities Co., and renamed it as Yuanta Securities (Thailand).

       In 2000, Yuanta completed a merger with Core Pacific and Dafa, and changed its name to Yuanta Core Pacific Securities.

       In 2002, Yuanta completed a merger with Sampo Securities and Ting Kong Securities.

       In 2004, Yuanta Securities announced its merger with Asia Securities.

       In July 2004, Yuanta moved from OTC listing to become a publicly-traded company.

       In 2005, Yuanta increased its equity stake in Yuanta Funds, making it a subsidiary of the company.

    Fuhwa Financial Holdings

       Fuhwa Financial Holdings’ origins date back to 1980, when Fuhwa Securities Finance was established.

       In 1994, Fuhwa Securities Finance became a publicly listed company.

       In 1996, Fuhwa’s business expanded to include securities, securities finance, futures, and other related investment areas. From 1996 to 1998, the company increases its investment in Fuhwa Securities, Fuhwa Investment Trust, and Fuhwa Futures.

       In 2002, Fuhwa Financial Holding Company (FHC) was established as a financial holdings company through a 100% equity swap between Fuhwa Securities Finance and Fuhwa Securities.

       In August 2002, Fuhwa FHC acquired Fuhwa Commercial Bank (formerly known as Asia Pacific Commercial Bank; established in 1992), making it a subsidiary company.

       To meet legal requirements, Fuhwa FHC sold its entire stake in Fuwha Funds, and then re-acquired Fuwha Funds (formerly Asia Pacific Funds), via share transfer, as a subsidiary company.


    Yuanta Financial Holdings

       In 2007, Fuhwa Financial Holding Company (FHC) and Yuanta Core Pacific Securities merged to form a newly combined entity named Yuanta Financial Holdings (FHC).

       In September 2007, the two securities firms under Yuanta Financial Holdings were merged, and the name was changed to Yuanta Securities.

       In 2007, Fuwha Commercial Bank was also renamed Yuanta Commercial Bank.

       In October 2011, Yuanta Financial Holdings and Polaris Securities merged, with Polaris becoming a wholly-owned subsidiary of Yuanta FHC.

       In 2012, Yuanta Securities merged with Polaris Securities, Yuanta Futures merged with Polaris MF Global Futures, and Yuanta Securities Investment Trust merged with Polaris Securities Investment Trust.

       In 2013, Yuanta announced an agreement with New York Life Enterprises, LLC, to acquire 100% equity in its Taiwan subsidiary, New York Life Insurance Taiwan Corporation (founded in 1992).

       In 2014, New York Life Insurance Taiwan became a part of Yuanta Financial Holdings, being renamed Yuanta Life.

       In 2014, Yuanta’s subsidiary Yuanta Securities Asia Financial Services acquired 53.10% equity stake in TONGYANG Securities, which was renamed as Yuanta Securities (Korea).

       In September 2014, Yuanta Securities acquired PT AmCapital Indonesia.

       In 2015, Yuanta Bank acquired TONGYANG Savings Bank (Philippines) and renamed it as Yuanta Savings Bank (Philippines).

       In April 2015, Yuanta Securities established Yuanta Securities (UK).

       In March 2016, Ta Chong Bank was merged with Yuanta Financial Holdings, becoming a wholly-owned subsidiary of Yuanta FHC.

       In April 2016, Yuanta Bank acquired 100% equity of Korea’s Hanshin Savings Bank.

       In July 2016, Yuanta acquired a 99.9% equity stake in Thailand’s KKTrade Securities Co., Ltd., as a subsidiary of Yuanta Securities Asia Financial Services, and renamed it as Yuanta Securities (Thailand).

       In 2017, The First Securities Joint Stock Company of Vietnam was acquired.

    In January 2018, Yuanta Bank and Ta Chong Bank merged, becoming one of Taiwan’s largest private banks.

       In February 2018, Yuanta acquired 100% equity stake in Vietnam First Securities, which was renamed as Yuanta Securities Vietnam.

    • Yuanta AMC – loan acquisition, and the assessment, management and sale of bad loans, Accounts Receivable Purchase and management of Overdue Receivable Management.

       With over 14,000 employees, Yuanta Financial Holding is considered one of Taiwan’s largest companies in the securities industry. According to Forbes, it is considered one of the Largest Public Companies in the World.
