     China Mobile Ltd. operates as an investment holding company, which through its subsidiaries provides mobile telecommunications and related services. The company offers mobile telecommunications services using the TD-SCDMA standard and operates 3G business based on an Internet protocol based core mobile telecommunications network that is shared by 2G and 3G. The company operates its business through two divisions: Voice Business and Data Business. The Voice Business division provides local calls, domestic long distance calls, international long distance calls, intra-provincial roaming, inter-provincial roaming, international roaming and voice value-added services. Its voice value-added services mainly include caller identity display, caller restrictions, call waiting, call forwarding, call holding, voice mail, conference calls and other services. The Data Business division provides short message and multimedia message services, wireless data traffic business and applications and information services. This division’s applications and information services provide wireless music, mobile reading, mobile video, mobile mailbox, mobile paper, mobile gaming, mobile payment, wallet, mobile TV and location-based services. It also offers mobile telecommunications services principally using the global system for mobile communications, which intends to use its GSM network to primarily carry voice usage and certain data traffic from mobile phones. The company was founded on September 3, 1997 and is headquartered in Hong Kong.

    The Company’s wholly-owned subsidiary, Guangdong Mobile and Shanghai Pudong Development Bank Co., Ltd. (“SPD Bank”) entered into a share subscription agreement to acquire 20% interest in SPD Bank at a consideration of RMB39.5 billion. Completion of the subscription took place in October.

    On 25 November, China Mobile Limited and SPD Bank entered into a strategic cooperation agreement, thereby officially commenced their cooperation in areas of mobile finance and mobile e-Commerce businesses.

    China Mobile Limited entered into a share subscription agreement with Far EasTone Telecommunications Co., Ltd. (“Far EasTone”) to acquire, through its wholly-owned subsidiary, 444,341,020 shares, representing 12% of the enlarged issued share capital of Far EasTone.
