       Chunghwa Telecom Company, Ltd. is a telecommunication service provider headquartered in Zhongzheng, Taipei, Taiwan. It was founded on June 15, 1996, as part of the Taiwanese government’s privatization efforts.

       Chunghwa Telecom was listed on the Taiwan Stock Exchange in 2000, and on the New York Stock Exchange in 2003.

       In 2007, Senao International was acquired.

       In 2020, the company launched Taiwan’s first 5G NR network.

       Chunghwa Telecom offers domestic and international fixed communication, mobile communication, broadband, and internet services. In addition to these conventional services, the company also provides innovative services in network security, clouds, IoT, big data, AI etc.  The company’s range of solutions are used by the government and various industries in Smart City, FinTech, Intelligent Energy, Smart Manufacture, Smart Healthcare, Smart Agriculture etc.

       With more than 20,000 employees, Chunghwa Telecom Company, Ltd. is considered one of the largest telecommunication service providers in Taiwan and one of the largest in Asia in terms of revenue. It is also considered one of Taiwan’s largest providers of fixed-line services, mobile services, broadband access services, and Internet services, in terms of revenue and customers. According to Forbes, it is considered one of the Top 2000 Largest Public Companies in the World.
